WAEC GCE Registration 2026 | Application Guidelines
WAEC GCE Registration 2026: This is to inform the general public and all intending candidates that registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2026 First Series (GCE) has commenced.
The registration fee is ₦27,000, and registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026. Candidates are advised to carefully read all instructions to ensure a successful registration process.
Registration Procedure
Registration is strictly online. After purchasing the Registration PIN, candidates should visit www.waeconline.org.ng to complete their registration.
The process includes biometric capture, which will be used for identity verification at the examination centres.
Registration Deadline for WAEC GCE Registration 2026
Normal registration ends on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Payment Method for WAEC GCE Registration 2026
Candidates are to pay ₦27,000 at any accredited bank or agent to obtain the Registration PIN and Information VCD.

Walk-In Candidates for WAEC GCE Registration 2026
Late applicants may register as Walk-In Candidates at least 24 hours before their paper(s).
Walk-In fee: ₦45,000.
PWDs Candidates for WAEC GCE Registration 2026
PWD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates will register online like others but must clearly indicate their type of impairment (e.g., visual, speech, hearing, etc.).
WAEC GCE Registration Centres
Candidates may register at accredited banks, cyber cafés, WAEC offices, or designated WAEC Registration Points.
Also note: Registration must be completed within two weeks of first logging into the portal. Candidates must verify all details (name, gender, date of birth, subjects, and passport photo) before submission.
They must also print their Admission Notice, which serves as identification during the examination and contains the Result Checker PIN.

Important Examination Information
- The examination will be computer-based for objective papers. Essay and practical tests will be hybrid (questions on screen, answers written in booklets).
- You can take an optional online mock examination, and we’ll share the details through SMS, email, and our social platforms.
- Registration fees are non-refundable.
- Candidates should check the website regularly for the timetable.
- Passport photos must meet WAEC specifications (JPEG, good quality, contrasting background). Poor-quality photos will invalidate registration.
- You can download the regulations and syllabuses from the WAEC website (www.waeconline.org.ng) using your registration PIN.
- Candidates must wear mufti and must not carry arms; uniforms are not allowed.
- Sitting for the exam in more than one centre will result in cancellation of results.
- Do not smoke in the examination hall..
- Possession of phones or electronic devices in the hall will lead to total result cancellation.
- WAEC will not correct errors in the details you submit, and the Council will not allow any amendments afterward..
- Candidates must present their original Admission Notice at the exam centre.
- Examination malpractice attracts cancellation and possible prosecution.
